
Sander Van de Walle

Sander Van de Walle (1986) is in charge of the kitchen at Caillou. He has been passionate about food from an early age. He took his first steps in his mother's kitchen, and his love of desserts gives him "the advantage of being very precise in every dish he makes".
Sander joined restaurant Sel Gris* about ten years ago and worked his way up over eight years to become Frederik's right-hand man. That followed several internships and positions at, among others, 't Hof van Cleve***, De Lijsterbes, De Oosthoek, Tribeca** (the Netherlands), Zaranda** (Mallorca) and Likoké* (France).
In 2016 he came second in the Saisonnier Pâtisserie Benelux competition. In October 2018 he won the title of first chef of Belgium "Prosper Montagné". He was recently inducted into the "Order of the 33 Masterchefs of Belgium".
